VITERBO MASTERCLASS WELCOMES EMMY AWARD WINNING BROADWAY STAR KAREN MORROW
LA CROSSE, Wis.--Karen Morrow, an Emmy award winning Broadway singer, will conduct a masterclass at Viterbo University on Thursday, March 27.
Morrow was raised by operatic parents in Des Moines, Iowa and turned to the theatre while living in Milwaukee. Since then, she has been to every major musical theatre, cabaret, and concert hall from New York to Honolulu. In New York, she starred in several Broadway productions including the Tony Award winning, Drood. Morrow participated in five seasons with the New York City Center during its golden years of music revivals and has most recently starred in the national tour of Showboat. On television, she has starred regularly in several programs including Friends and Tabitha as well as guest appearances on shows such as The Tonight Show, Night Court, and The Today Show.
Susan Rush, a Viterbo music theatre professor, worked with Morrow at The Milwaukee Melody Top Theatre. Together, they performed in Little Me and Annie Get Your Gun. "That’s really how I know how great she is," said Rush.
Morrow has also sung with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, the Honolulu, Pacific, Minnesota, Milwaukee, and Metropolitan symphony orchestras. In addition, she can be heard on 11 albums and has received an Emmy, a Theatre World Award, and five Dramalogue Awards.
This event, which runs from 9:30 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., is free and open to the public.
