BROADWAY LEGEND’S UNIQUE STYLE CELEBRATED IN FOSSE
LA CROSSE, Wis.— Fosse, the Tony Award-winning musical that highlights the revolutionary style of legendary dancer, choreographer, and director Bob Fosse’s will hit the stage at the Viterbo Fine Arts Center Main Theatre on Friday, Feb. 7 at 7:30 p.m.
Finger snaps, shoulder rolls, rakishly tipped bowlers, and white-gloved hands are signatures of the sexy style of Tony Award-winning director, dancer, and choreographer Bob Fosse, whose Broadway hits included Sweet Charity, Chicago, Dancin’, and the films Cabaret and All That Jazz.
Created by long-time Fosse stars Gwen Verdon and Ann Reinking, Fosse is a celebration of song and dance that recreates the choreographer’s groundbreaking work with an extraordinarily talented cast. Showcasing classic Fosse dance numbers like "Steam Heat," "Bye Bye Blackbird," and "Sing, Sing, Sing," Fosse also features rarely seen dance numbers and work that has never been seen on stage.
In 1973, Bob Fosse became the first director in history to win the Oscar, Tony, and Emmy award in a single year for the film version of Cabaret, the musical Pippin, and the television special Lisa with a Z. His Broadway work garnered him no less than nine Tony Awards.
Fosse has been seen live by over four million people worldwide and by millions more through the PBS telecast on "Great Performances in America."
Part of the Bright Star Season, Fosse is sponsored by Gundersen Lutheran and supported, in part, by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin.
