DOC SEVERINSEN TO WORK JAZZ MAGIC WITH SOLD-OUT CROWD
LA CROSSE, Wis.—Blistering jazz, blues classics, and swingin’ band music are in order when the Doc Severinsen and His Big Band work their magic at Viterbo University’s Fine Arts Center Main Theatre on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 7:30 p.m.
Known to television audiences as the flamboyant Grammy Award-winning music director of The Tonight Show, Doc continues to play in his sizzling style with former members of The Tonight Show band—including Ed Shaughnessy on drums and Snooky Young and Conte Candoli on trumpet.
One of the most dynamic, flamboyant, and dazzling instrumentalists, Doc travels the country performing with symphony orchestras, jazz ensembles, and big bands to consistently sold-out crowds. Performing publicly since he was 7, the versatile Doc has recorded more than 30 albums and is also the Principal Pops Conductor of the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, the Minnesota Orchestra, the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, and the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra.
Doc Severinsen and His Big Band is sponsored by North Central Trust Company and supported, in part, by a grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board with funds from the State of Wisconsin.
Tickets are sold out. For more information, contact the Viterbo University Box Office at 608-796-3100
