VITERBO HOSTS AN EVENING OF TAIZE-STYLE PRAYER
LA CROSSE, Wis.—Viterbo University is holding an evening of Taize-style prayer on Wednesday, March 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the San Damiano Chapel.
A sung, meditative form of prayer, Taize is named after the Taize community, an ecumenical, international community of brothers founded in Taize, France in 1940. "Taize-style prayer is a really creative way for Christians to pray together across denominations, without concern for who they are or where they come from," said Earl Madary, a Viterbo religious studies professor who will lead the evening of prayer. "Taize offers us a chance to reconnect with all Christians, renew ourselves, and pray together for each other and our world."
This evening of Taize-style prayer is part of the St. Rose Lecture Series at Viterbo University and is free and open to the public. Contact Madary at 608-796-3407 or ejmadary@viterbo.edufor more information.
