LAUGHTER A PART OF BRIGHT STAR SEASON'S COSI FAN TUTTE

LA CROSSE, Wis—One of Mozart’s most beloved comic operas comes to life at Viterbo University with Cosi Fan Tutte, Friday, March 30 through Sunday, April 1.

A collaborative effort of the Viterbo Music and Theatre Departments, the story is of two men who test the love, loyalty, and faithfulness of their intended. Filled with beautiful music, Cosi Fan Tutte reveals the master-composer at his finest.

Convinced of their fiancées’ fidelity, Ferrando and Guilelmo accept a wager from a cynical friend who believes that women cannot be trusted. After departing on a phony military expedition, Ferrando and Guilelmo return disguised as Albanian visitors and set about seducing one another’s fiancées. During their adventure, the men encounter colorful characters and clever plot twists that set them on a path of discovery about the nature of life and love.

Stage director of Cosi Fan Tutte is Susan Rush, Viterbo theatre arts department chair; music director and conductor is Daniel Johnson-Wilmot, a Viterbo music professor.
