VITERBO'S DR. SCHOLL WINNER ANNOUNCED
LA CROSSE, Wis—A high school senior from Maple Plain, Minn. is the winner of the Dr. Scholl Scholarship which is Viterbo University’s most competitive and lucrative scholarship.
Chad Gonczy , son of Judy Dunbar, Maple Grove and Randy Gonczy of Maple Plain, was selected Friday at the end of a day of testing and campus interviews provided to the 24 finalists competing for the scholarship. All students have expressed an interest in pursing careers in healthcare or science.
The Scholl Scholarship, which is renewable from year to year, covers complete tuition costs for up to four years, and is valued in excess of $53,000. Gronczy, who is interested in a career in the medical field, has a 3.7 grade point average.
The scholarship is named in honor of Dr. William Scholl who died in 1968. He left the bulk of the estate to a foundation named in his honor.
