SCHOOL OF NURSING SEEKS VOLUNTEERS OVER AGE 60 FOR FREE WELLNESS PROGRAM
LA CROSSE, Wis.— The Viterbo University School of Nursing is looking for volunteers age 60 and older who are interested in improving their overall health and fitness through an Adult Health and Development Program (AHDP).
This free program is designed to help older adults engage in activities which will positively affect their health, well-being, physical fitness, and health knowledge. Viterbo University nursing students will pair up with participants and provide guidance, encouragement, and support through health-promoting activities.
"We’re looking for a number of willing volunteers to participate," said Joyce Heil, a professor of nursing at Viterbo. "The program is exciting because it offers a new approach to total wellness and provides one-one-one coaching and support."
The AHDP program will be held at two sites in the La Crosse area. The sessions are:
- Mondays, Jan. 22-Feb. 26: 1-4 p.m., Naval Reserve Center, 2226 Green Bay St.
