VITERBO UNIVERSITY TO PRESENT OUR TOWN OCT. 10–12
LA CROSSE, Wis. – Take a wonderful journey to the fictional community of Grover’s Corners, as Viterbo University presents Our Town, Friday, Oct. 10–Sunday, Oct. 12 in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre.
Our Town is an American classic, written by three-time Pulitzer-prize winning playwright and Madison native Thorton Wilder. Audience members will be touched by this immortal tale of love, marriage, death, and daily life.
First produced on Broadway in 1938, Our Town has been performed in every part of the world and in over 50 languages. Part of its immense appeal is that the play sets the simplicity and significance of each single human life against the scale of eternity and the life of the stars. It captures the universal experience of being alive. According to Albert Einstein, “Our Town touches the soul like a miracle.”
This Viterbo production is co-sponsored by the La Crosse Tribune and Hoppens Realty.
Performance times are 7:30 p.m. Oct 10 and Oct. 11 and 2 p.m. Oct. 12. Tickets are $17 for main floor, $16 for lower balcony, and $13 for upper balcony seating. For more information, contact the Viterbo box office at 608-796-3100 or www.viterbo.edu/finearts1.aspx.
