LA CROSSE, Wis.-- "As You Like It," a romantic comedy written by William Shakespeare and directed by Viterbo Theatre Professor Dean Yohnk, will be playing in the Viterbo Black Box Theatre Feb. 24-28.

Set in the 21st century, Shakespeare’s characters retreat to the mystical forest of Arden, a place of surprising beauty and peace, to find simplicity, honesty, virtue, and love. As they escape from the chaos and conflict of the "civilized" world, the bard’s lovers and villains find a world of kindliness, fellowship, goodwill, and the desire to return to society with a renewed and reinvigorated view of life.

"‘As You Like It’ is one of Shakespeare’s most popular romantic comedies. It’s filled with music and song," said Yohnk. "And to help the audience better identify with it, we’ve set the story in the present and focused closely on the impact computer technology has on our everyday lives."

All performances begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $8. Call the Viterbo College Box Office at 608-796-3100 for more information.
