VITERBO GETS AN EARLY START WITH HOLIDAY CELEBRATIONS
LA CROSSE, Wis.—While it may be difficult to imagine that Christmas is right around the corner, Viterbo College is already getting into the spirit this year with several Yuletide events.
The events include:
Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony, Thursday, Dec. 2, 3:30 p.m.
Fine Arts Center Lobby
This annual event officially starts the Christmas season activities at Viterbo College. After the tree is lighted by Viterbo President William J. Medland, the Viterbo community enjoys caroling and refreshments.
Annual Alumni Children’s Christmas Party, Saturday, Dec. 4, 1:30-3 p.m.
Fine Arts Center Lobby
Tradition continues when Viterbo alumni and their children gather for this party which includes Christmas carols, games and activities, refreshments, and a visit from Santa Claus.
"Amahl and the Night Visitors," Saturday, Dec. 4, 7:30 p.m.; Sunday, Dec. 5, 2 p.m.
Fine Arts Center Main Theatre
Presented by the Viterbo Music Department, this brief, one-act operetta was composed by Gian Carlo Menotti. Two boys from the La Crosse Boychoir are featured in the title role.
President’s Dinner, Thursday, Dec. 9, 4:30-6 p.m.

Viterbo College President Medland parts with his usual suit and tie in favor of more casual attire complete with a Santa Claus hat for this yearly event. All Viterbo students are invited to this formal dinner where they are served food and beverage by Viterbo College staff and faculty, including Medland.
