ESTAMPRAS PROTENAS TO PRESENT TANGO FIRE AT VITERBO JAN. 30
LA CROSSE, Wis. – Argentina’s hottest Tango company, Estampras Protenas, will bring the alluring and sophisticated dance to the Viterbo Fine Arts Center Main Theatre stage as they present Tango Fire Wednesday, Jan. 30.
With four musicians, a soloist, and 10 dancers, Estampras Protenas will take the audience through the history and evolution of Tango, through changes in costume, lighting, music styles, and dance steps. The group has performed at festivals and venues around the world since its founding in 1996.
“Tango is a dance of almost indescribable beauty, with the grace of ballet and the fire of flamenco,” said famous Russian dancer Mikhail Baryshnikov.
Under the musical direction of founder Carolina Soler, Tango Fire treats audiences to an evening of high-energy sensuality and sophistication. Estampras Protenas’ performance is sponsored by James G. Birnbaum, Attorney-at-Law, and Charter Media.
Performance time is 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $29 for upper balcony seating. For more information, contact the Viterbo University box office at 608-796-3100 or www.viterbo.edu/finearts1.aspx.
