LIFE IN OCCUPIED PALESTINE: EYEWITNESS STORIES AND PHOTOS PRESENATION AT VITERBO UNIVERSITY DEC. 6

LA CROSSE, Wis. – Anna Baltzer, a 28-year-old Jewish American Columbia graduate, Fulbright scholar, and granddaughter of Holocaust refugees, will present Life in Occupied Palestine: Eyewitness Stories and Photos at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6 in the Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Recital Hall.

The presentation is part of the D.B. Reinhart Institute for Ethics in Leadership fall lecture series. Baltzer will present photographs and stories from her work documenting alleged human rights abuses and supporting nonviolent resistance in the West Bank with the International Women’s Peace Service. Her talk will address checkpoints, the wall, Israeli activism, censorship, nonviolent resistance, and other topics rarely covered in mainstream U.S. media.

Baltzer is currently touring America with the updated and revised second edition of her book, Witness in Palestine: A Jewish American Woman in the Occupied Territories.

“The purpose of my presentation and book is to provide those interested in the Israel/Palestine conflict with critical information and documentation that can be difficult to obtain through mainstream U.S. media sources, and to encourage dialogue toward taking action on the issue,” Baltzer said.

All D.B. Reinhart Institute events are free and open to the public. For more information visit www.viterbo.edu/ethics.aspx?id=10678.
