ROYAL DRUMMERS OF BURUNDI TO PERFORM AT VITERBO OCT. 23

LA CROSSE, Wis. – One of the world’s best percussion ensembles, the Royal Drummers of Burundi, will bring its incredible performance to Viterbo University Fine Arts Center Main Theatre Monday, Oct. 23.

The Royal Drummers of Burundi are a 20-drum ensemble that generates complex heart-stopping rhythms that are an integral part of Burundi’s culture. Drums are sacred in Burundi, and are played at births, funerals, and the enthronement of kings. This performance is an important example of its musical heritage.

The Royal Drummers of Burundi represent the ultimate African drum experience. Their performance is co-sponsored by Coulee Bank.
