Viterbo to Celebrate Founder’s Day Oct. 4
Viterbo University will celebrate Founder’s Day with a special Mass and other activities Wednesday, Oct. 4.
“We celebrate St. Francis because he is both the founder of the Franciscans and the primary patron saint of Viterbo,” said Father Tom O’Neill, campus ministry. “We are rooted and grounded in St Francis – his legacy and his values.”
The St. Francis Day celebration will begin with Mass at 11 a.m. in Maria Angelorum Chapel at the St. Rose Convent. The Mass will include music provided by the Viterbo Concert Choir, Viterbo Chorale, 9th Street Singers, and the St. Francis choir. The Mass will also feature Viterbo international students.
Following Mass there will be a community lunch in Marian dining hall. All 11 a.m. and noon classes are canceled. Finally, there will be the annual pet blessing at the Dancing Francis statue at 5 p.m.
