MUSIC FACULTY MEMBERS TO PRESENT CD RELEASE CONCERT
Money Raised from CD Sale to Fund Scholarship
Viterbo music faculty members Timothy Schorr and Mary Ellen Haupert will present a concert of four-hand piano music to promote their new CD Music four Hands at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23 in the Fine Arts Center Recital Hall.
The event is free and open to the public. All money generated from sales of the CD will be put toward the $10,000 needed to fund a planned endowed scholarship for piano students at Viterbo. There will be a reception and release party following the recital.
“We decided that making a CD would be a wonderful way to share our music with the community and to promote the piano program at Viterbo,” Schorr said.
The scholarship will be named in honor of Marlene Weisenbeck, FSPA, former music department chair. “This is such a fitting tribute to a woman who has given so much to the Viterbo and La Crosse communities,” Schorr said.
Schorr and Haupert’s CD features works from a concert they performed in the spring of this year. It was made possible by a gift from the Syl Liebl family.
