VITERBO THEATRE DEPARTMENT PRESENTS TWO ROOMS SEPT. 21–23
LA CROSSE, Wis. – The Viterbo theatre department will present Two Rooms by Lee Blessing, an extremely relevant play inspired by world events, in the Fine Arts Center
La Croix Black Box Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21 through Sunday, Sept. 23.
“It is an exceptional piece of theatre,” said Rick Walters, associate professor of theatre, who is directing the performances. “And the themes it explores are very timely.”
The play, which is set in two almost identical rooms a world apart, deals with a husband held hostage and his wife’s attempt to cope with the situation. Written in response to the hostage crisis in Lebanon in the mid-1980s, the play takes an even-handed look at the balance of power in a world crisis, and it does so from a human perspective, exploring how world events affect real people.
Two Rooms casts Viterbo students Lindsey Giese, Troy Iverson, Jeremy Day, and Sarah Hinzman. Tickets are $10. For more information, contact the Viterbo University box office at 608-796-3100 or www.viterbo.edu/finearts1.aspx.
