VITERBO UNIVERSITY STUDENT WINS $5,000 ACS SCHOLARSHIP
LA CROSSE, Wis. – Viterbo University student Victoria Mooney is the recipient of a $5,000 American Chemical Society Scholars Program Scholarship for the 2006-07 academic year.
Mooney is a senior chemistry major from Pepin, Wis. who upon graduation plans to attend graduate school to earn a doctorate degree.
The ACS Scholars Program is designed to encourage African-American, Hispanic, and American Indian students to pursue undergraduate college degrees in the chemical sciences and chemical technology. Mooney has Native American ancestry. The scholarships are awarded on the basis of merit and financial need to students with strong academic records who plan to pursue a career in the chemical sciences.
Viterbo University is a four-year, co-educational, liberal arts university located in La Crosse, Wis. Viterbo was founded more than a century ago by the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration.
