John Desmond, a community leader known for his ability to get things done, Mike Desmond, a retired educator who has provided tremendous leadership with organizations that serve area youth, and Helen Elsbernd, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration who has always felt called to serve, are the 2018 recipients of the Viterbo University Saint John XXIII Award for Distinguished Service.
The D.B. Reinhart Institute for Ethics in Leadership at Viterbo University will host a reception with Sandra Bartel, author of the new book Joe: A Life of Mischief, Humor, and Joy from 4–6:30 p.m. Friday, June 8 in Reinhart Center 107.
Viterbo University has launched a military aligned student programming initiative that includes the appointment of a full-time director to help military veterans and their family members make a successful transition to college and civilian life.

The 2017-18 Viterbo University One-of-a-Kind Chamber Music Series will conclude Saturday, April 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Nola Starling Recital Hall with Out of This World, Down to Earth.
Viterbo University will present the musical James and the Giant Peach at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 21–Sunday, April 22 and Saturday, April 28–Sunday, April 29 at the Weber Center for the Performing Arts.
Area students and their parents are invited to an evening of fun demonstrations and hands-on science experiments at Viterbo University’s annual “Fired Up for Science” event from 6–8 p.m. Wednesday, April 25. The event was rescheduled from April 18.
