2–4 p.m. Fire Alarm Testing in Campus Buildings. The alarm will go off briefly. No need to evacuate the building unless instructed to do so.

5–6:30 p.m. Death Cafe – School of Nursing Building Lobby. Hosted by students in Nursing 301. Everyone welcome; snacks and refreshments provided. The event is a directed discussion of death.



6–7 p.m. “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Finals: A Student’s Personal Story of Drug Misuse” Presentation – Murphy Center 444. A current graduate student will share his personal story and journey of substance misuse as study aids. Everyone welcome.



6:30 p.m. Holiday Cards, Movies, and Hot Chocolate – School of Nursing Building 101. RSVP via the Viterbo app. Created holiday greeting cards will be given to residents at local long-term care facilities.



Construction activities will begin in the Fine Arts Center on Monday, Dec 3. Construction is expected to continue in the Fine Arts Center until mid-March. Some of the activities may be noisy.



Viterbo community members are invited to go Christmas Caroling at local long-term care facilities at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4. RSVP via the Viterbo app and meet in the School of Nursing Building Lobby that evening. RSVPs are needed by at least 10 people.



Celebrate the Christmas season with the Viterbo University choirs as they present A Viterbo Christmas: Out of Darkness, Light! at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 and 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2 in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre. Performing music of the season will be the Viterbo Concert Choir, Women’s Chorale, and 9th Street Singers, all under the direction of Viterbo music faculty member Brett Robison. Also performing are a professional orchestra and special guests, the Aquinas High School Concert Choir. Visit the box office for tickets.



A Celebration of the Eucharist of the First Sunday of Advent with Bishop William Callahan will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2 in San Damiano Chapel.



Nursing students are holding a drive for feminine hygiene products for WAFER. Collection boxes have been set up in various campus buildings.

VU After Dark Rotary Lights Night is Saturday, Dec. 1. Meet in the Student Union at 7:40 p.m. Transportation will be provided.



VUSM 300 has partnered with the Salvation Army to bring an Angel Giving Tree to the School of Nursing Building Lobby. There are 15 tags on the tree, each with clothing needs and sizes of families in the La Crosse area. There is a box next to the tree that you can place the gifts by Dec. 10.

Resources include Narcotics Anonymous, SMART Recovery, Viterbo University counseling, and other local counseling agencies.



Students in the Nursing 390 Body Mind Therapies class are offering 15-minute massages Monday, Dec. 3 from 12:30–2:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Dec. 4 from 9–11 a.m. and noon–2 p.m.; Wednesday, Dec. 5 from 10 a.m.–noon and 1–3 p.m.; and Thursday, Dec. 6 from 9–11 a.m. in the School of Nursing Building room 204. Schedule a hand/arm massage; head, face, neck and shoulder massage; back massage; or foot massage with Jayne Oliver at indicating your date/time preference, cell phone number, and type of massage. No disrobing is necessary.



The Viterbo Art Club will host their annual Empty Bowls to Feed the Hungry event from 11 a.m.–2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30 in the School of Nursing Building lobby. Buy a $10 handmade bowl, fill it with homemade chili and then keep the bowl. Proceeds will be donated to local charity.
