Viterbo President Glena Temple and Western Technical College President Lee Rasch will sign a memorandum of understanding today regarding the development of a joint engineering program.

 

Students: Want to help new students acclimate to college and foster connections? Apply to serve as an Orientation Leader during V-Hawk Orientation Days, Aug. 25–27. Applicants must be a current student and have a strong desire to share your love and knowledge of Viterbo University to new students and their families. Individuals serving as orientation leaders have the opportunity to develop leadership skills, serve as role models, facilitate group activities, meet new people, foster new friendships, and work in a team environment. Attend the International Transgender Day of Visibility Lunch and Learn from 12:10–1:05 p.m. Friday, March 31 in the Diversity and Inclusion Lounge in Murphy Center 579. Staff from the UW-L Pride Center will discuss current challenges and opportunities for universities welcoming students who are transgender. Lunch is provided and the event is open to the whole Viterbo community. Sponsored by Viterbo Pride.

 

Join the music department at a special Showcase Recital featuring freshman and sophomore music majors and minors at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 1 in the Fine Arts Center Recital Hall. This recital will feature a variety both classical and music theatre vocal repertoire as well as classical piano selections. Free and open to the public with a reception afterward.

 

The social work club is holding their yearly educational event featuring LeeAnn Van Vreede, Viterbo counselor, who will train participants on QPR (Question, Persuade, and Refer). QPR training is used for suicide prevention to teach the warning signs of suicide crisis and how to respond. The event will be on will be from 12:15–1:15 p.m. Monday, April 3 in Brophy Center 123. A free lunch will be provided.To register, email Jennie Anderson-Meger jimeger@viterbo.edu by March 31.

 

Wishmakers on Campus La Crosse works with the Make-A-Wish Wisconsin Program to help raise funds for young people with a life-threatening illness. They are working to raise money for a local La Crosse teenager who is living with Stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He is currently in remission, and his wish is to go to Florida this summer with his family. A fundraiser will be held at the Coulee Region Chill game at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 30. They are selling adult tickets to the game for $10 with the money raised going towards the fundraiser. To purchase a ticket, contact Viterbo student Kayla Schweiner at kschwe63197@viterbo.edu
