Rest in Peace Marie Leon La Croix, FSPA, who passed away March 20. In 1955, Sr. La Croix started the theatre department at Viterbo College and was director, costume designer and maker, and associate professor until her retirement in 1994. She also played a very prominent role in the design of Viterbo University’s Fine Arts Center. After retirement, she continued to volunteer at Viterbo, especially in making costumes. Friends may call after 3:15 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, at St. Rose Convent, La Crosse. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. in Mary of the Angels Chapel that evening. March 20–24 is Nutrition Week. All week long, find clues on Recreational Sports’ Instagram and Facebook pages that will lead you to hidden recipes around campus. Find each recipe to be entered in to win a $50 gift card to the Waterfront restaurant.


The Summer Shape Up Student Challenge begins in next week. Registration costs $5 and may be done at the Mathy Center front desk. Try different types of workouts and participate in mini challenges and the main event each week to become more active. Three winners will receive either a season pass to Noah’s Ark Waterpark, a JBL Portable Speaker, or a Viterbo University Cornhole set.


Order a pair of socks to benefit Children's Miracle Network and La Crosse Salvation Army at and purchase a pair by Monday, March 27. For each pair of socks purchased, $5 will be donated to CMN and a pair of socks will be donated to La Crosse Salvation Army.

Employees: Sing at President Temple’s inauguration. There will be a mass choir of all music and music theatre students preforming Copland’s The Promise of Living at the inauguration ceremony on April 7. You are invited to attend Concert Choir rehearsals on Wednesday, March 22 and/or Wednesday, March 29 from 12:20–1:15 p.m. to learn the music. There will also be other rehearsal times scheduled for those who cannot make these days/times. Contact Bret Robison and he will send you the music.


The 2017 fall class schedule is now available for viewing through VitNet or Student Planning account. Students should meet with their advisors in the next few weeks. Registration begins Monday, April 3. Your advisor will inform you of your registration time.


The admission office is accepting applications for the very important job of a Viterbo Voyager (tour guide) for the 2017–18 school year. Applicants must be a current student and have a strong desire to share your love and knowledge of Viterbo University to potential students and their families. This is a paid position and it is not work study. Tour guides are required to work 1–2 hours a week giving tours or helping out in the admission office, and work 10–12 visit events throughout the school year. Some of these events fall on a Saturday and tour guides are required to work. Summer employment is also available but not required. Visit the admission office to pick up an application or for additional information. Application deadline is Friday, March 31.


Physical Plant has placed various retired office furniture under the Murphy Center cloister. These items are free to take, however, you are responsible for removal. All wanted items will need to be removed by Sunday, March 26.
