V-Hawks for Life will host a tie blanket event Thursday, Feb. 26 at 5 p.m. in Clare Apartments first floor lounge. Food and entertainment will be provided as participants make the blankets. Everyone is welcome to bring their ID and to make tie blankets for the Warming Center and Birthright. There is enough fabric to make more than 40 blankets.

Students are encouraged to attend the Career Readiness Series presentation, “Life After the Cheering Stops: Competing for a Great Job After College” from 5–6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25 in the School of Nursing Building 195. Learn how to apply your competitive edge in the job market. Get an inside look at the traits of student athletes that make them so desirable to employers, and how to communicate through resumes, cover letters, and networking. Applicable to non-athletes as well. Pre-registration appreciated at www.viterbo.edu/careers. Rev. Dr. Michael Cusato, OFM, an expert in the life of St. Francis of Assisi and the former director of the Franciscan Institute at St. Bonaventure University, will give the keynote address, “St. Francis of Assisi: Pacifist, Ecumenist, Arabist” at the annual Viterbo humanities symposium from 12:30–2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25 in the Fine Arts Center Main Theatre. The event is free and open to the public.

 

The Viterbo community is invited to attend the Lunch and Learn “Why Wellness Works” with chiropractor Ben Erlandson from 12:10–1:10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27 in the Reinhart Center Board Room. Register for the Starry Night event Friday, Feb. 27 at http://www.viterbo.edu/vu-after-dark/event-information. VU After Dark will be hosting a light and laser show set to popular music at the UW-L Planetarium. The event is free and transportation will be provided.

 

Attention Students: On Feb. 23, you received an email entitled “Win Prizes with Viterbo University and the ACHA-NCHA Survey.” Students are encouraged to complete the survey in one sitting, which usually takes 20 minutes.  All students who submit a survey will be automatically entered in a random drawing for prizes, including a 32-inch TV and gift cards. The Environmental Sustainability Club will hold its next meeting Wednesday, Feb. 25 from 5–6 p.m. in Reinhart Center room 130. Pizza provided, everyone welcome.
