The blessing will begin in Murphy Center and conclude in the Fine Arts Center. Holiday cider and cookies and a few Christmas carols will follow the blessing. Everyone is welcome to attend.

 

3:30 p.m. Watch the V-Hawks in the National Volleyball Tournament – Live-streamed in Brophy Center 122. The Viterbo women compete against 38-7 Madonna University, Mich. The V-Hawks also play at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday (vs. College of Coastal Georgia 35-1)  and Thursday (Biola University, Calif., 28-4) and these games will also be live-streamed from Sioux City, Iowa to a campus locale TBD.

 

The Viterbo community offers its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Sister Alice Kaiser, Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration, who died Nov. 27 at Villa St. Joseph. Sr. Kaiser became Residence Life Director at Viterbo before being named Dean of Students in 1976. She was elected to a four-year term as FSPA President in 1990. In 1995, she began a four-year stint as English teacher at Viterbo. Friends may call after 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2 when her body will be brought to St. Rose Convent. A prayer service will be held the same evening at 6:30 p.m. in Mary of the Angels Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose Convent on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, La Crosse. Viterbo Student Nurses Association Meeting, Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. in the School of Nursing Building Collins Auditorium. A Patient Care Coordinator from Mayo will be here to speak. Come and learn about volunteer opportunities. Wednesday is the last day to sign up for the grey sweatshirts ($50). The VSNA membership shirt can still be picked up at office hours and at the meeting. Remember to bring your credit or debit card to the meeting if you would like to sign up to be a dancer for Dance Marathon.

 

RHA will host Ugly Christmas Sweater Bingo Thursday, Dec. 4 at 8 p.m. in the Reinhart Center Board Room. Free food and Christmas-themed prizes. Wear your ugly Christmas sweater.

All Viterbo students are invited to attend the annual President’s Holiday Dinner Wednesday, Dec. 3 from 4:15–6:30 p.m. in the Caf in the Student Union. Faculty and staff members will serve your choice of three entrees with all the trimmings. No reservations necessary, just come and enjoy.

Volunteers Needed for Emergency Supplemental Warming Center (ESWC): Should the National Weather Service declare a weather emergency due to extremely cold weather this winter, the ESWC at Wesley United Methodist Church will be called upon to open up to take the overflow of individuals from the Salvation Army and The Warming Center. This center will remain open for 24 hours for the duration of the extreme weather. There will be a Volunteer Information and Training Session on Tuesday, Dec. 2 from 4:00-5:30 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist, 721 King Street in La Crosse. Updated Locations: The Viterbo men’s and women’s bowling teams have brought the Salvation Army's Angel Giving Tree to the campus this holiday season. The giving tree is locate in the School of Nursing Building, Dahl School of Business, and the VAC.Choose a child's informational tag off the tree and choose a gift to purchase. Gifts should be wrapped or in a large enough bag with the child's name tag taped/stapled to the gift itself. Place the gift back under the tree and the bowlers will deliver the gifts or take the gift to the Salvation Army by Dec. 8.
