Join campus ministry Tuesday, Dec. 2 at 3:30 p.m. for the annual blessing of the Christmas Crèche in Murphy Center Lobby and the Christmas tree in the Fine Arts Center Lobby. The blessing will begin in Murphy Center and conclude in the Fine Arts Center. Holiday cider and cookies and a few Christmas carols will follow the blessing. Everyone is welcome to attend.

 

All Viterbo students are invited to attend the annual President’s Holiday Dinner Wednesday, Dec. 3 from 4:15–6:30 p.m. in the Caf in the Student Union. Faculty and staff members will serve your choice of three entrees with all the trimmings. No reservations necessary, just come and enjoy.

Volunteers Needed for Emergency Supplemental Warming Center (ESWC): Should the National Weather Service declare a weather emergency due to extremely cold weather this winter, the ESWC at Wesley United Methodist Church will be called upon to open up to take the overflow of individuals from the Salvation Army and The Warming Center. This center will remain open for 24 hours for the duration of the extreme weather. There will be a Volunteer Information and Training Session on Tuesday, Dec. 2 from 4:00-5:30 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist, 721 King Street in La Crosse. Dog Lovers Needed for volunteer opportunity: Capable Canines of Wisconsin provides service dogs to children and adults living with autism, seizures, hearing impairments and physical disAbilities. They are looking for volunteers to assist with feeding, grooming,  exercising and training their dogs. The kennel is located near campus on Green Bay Street.  Assistance with fundraising is also needed. For more information, email Leanne at stokes112@aol.com or capablecanineswis@gmail.com

Nursing 390 students are offering free 15 minute massages to the Viterbo community Monday, Dec. 1–Friday, Dec. 5. The massages to choose from are head/face/neck/shoulder, back, hand/arm, or foot. The times available are Monday from 3:30–4 p.m.; Tuesday from 9–11 a.m. and 2–4 p.m.; Wednesday from 9–11 a.m.; Thursday from 1–5 p.m.; and Friday from 8–10 a.m. and 1–3 p.m. No disrobing necessary. The Viterbo men’s and women’s bowling teams have brought the Salvation Army's Angel Giving Tree to the campus this holiday season. The giving tree is locate in the School of Nursing Building. Choose a child's informational tag off the tree and choose a gift to purchase. Gifts should be wrapped or in a large enough bag with the child's name tag taped/stapled to the gift itself. Place the gift back under the tree and the bowlers will deliver the gifts or take the gift to the Salvation Army by Dec. 8.
