1:30–2:30 p.m. Philanthropy Week Table – Murphy Center. Receive a free treat when you thank a benefactor by writing a note and taking a photo with the Instagram frame – props available. Philanthropy Week Fact: Many of the beautiful statues and artwork has been donated by alumni and benefactors, including the Dancing Francis statue, St. Clare statue, all of the artwork in the nursing center and and other artwork around campus. 1:30–3 p.m. Study Abroad and Interns in Action – Reinhart Center Board Room. Study abroad students and spring 2017 interns and their site supervisors will be on hand to share their experiences via an informal poster presentation and answer questions about study abroad and internships. Refreshments will be served. Students, staff, and faculty are all invited to attend.


3:30–4:30 p.m. Service-Learning Showcase – Reinhart Center Board Room. Have you or are you thinking about integrating service-learning into your course? Stop by the Service-Learning Showcase and see what Serving the Common Good faculty and students are doing. 7:30–9 p.m. All Student Show Opening Reception – Viterbo University Gallery. The exhibit will feature art in a variety of mediums submitted by Viterbo students and selected by a panel of judges.

Approximately 500 students will be participating in this year’s Scholars Days Wednesday, April 26–Saturday, April 29. The Viterbo community is invited to check out some of the 25 poster sessions, oral presentations, performances, fairs, and showcases happening as part of this campus-wide celebration of scholarship. Students in the Mind Body Therapies nursing class are offering free 15-minute massages next week: Tuesday from 12:30–4:30 p.m., Wednesday from 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m. and 1:30–3:30 p.m., Thursday from 10 a.m.–noon and 1–3 p.m., and Friday from 10 a.m.–noon. Have you thought about a 0-credit internship this summer? Internships are available across the country for a variety of majors and industries. Many are paid, but eligible students can be paid $10/hr. for an unpaid internship. Courtyard Carni will be Friday, May 5 in Assisi Courtyard. Inflatables, free food, caricatures, and big prizes will be present and the event goes from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. Come de-stress before finals week.


Stop by the Diversity and Inclusion Center in Murphy Center 579 and try candy from around the world. The door is always open.


Pepper for Performers will be 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 29 in the Fine Arts Center Recital Hall. Tickets are free and are available starting at 6:30 pm that night in the Recital Hall Lobby. Pepper the Performers is a cabaret-style show with music, comedy, and dancing. Before each act, however, the performer will eat a habanero pepper and will be allowed milk and bread once the act is complete.
