Building Hours During the Academic Year
 

NOTES:  The outside doors of the Fine Arts Center should NEVER be blocked open.
      Faculty, staff and administration have 24/7 access with their door cards. 

Fine Arts Center Facility Policy 
All practice, studio, rehearsal, performance, and other spaces within the Fine Arts Center are for educational university purposes and may not be used by students engaging in personal, profit-seeking ventures. 

Late Passes
A late pass is required for students who wish to continue practicing or studying after normal building hours.The student should obtain a late pass from the School of Fine Arts Office, FAC 440. Late passes need to be signed by the Dean of the School of Fine Arts. The student must carry the late pass with them while in the Fine Arts Center after hours. They are valid only for the current semester.

Access during Holidays
There is only electronic access to the building. Students must have a signed pass (other than the Late Pass) from their Department Chair or the Dean to be in the building during holiday breaks. This pass must be copied to Physical Plant before 4:30 p.m. on the last days of classes prior to the break.

Recital Hall 

• To reserve the Recital Hall for weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., sign up in the reservation book in the Fine Arts Center Office, FAC 102. Classes and ensembles that meet throughout the semester, such as 9th Street Singers and studio classes, have been entered in this book. 
• To reserve the Recital Hall for weekends, or weekdays after 5:00 p.m., you must submit a Facilities Reservation Request to Michael Ranscht, Fine Arts Center Director.
• The normal set-up for the Recital Hall is piano on stage, locked and covered. Chairs and stands should be put back into the storage closets. After using the room it should be returned to this set-up. No food or beverages allowed in the Recital Hall at any time.
• Piano majors are permitted to practice in the Recital Hall a maximum of 2 hours per week (only between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday). Students will have the understanding that faculty and ensemble needs take priority over their rehearsal time. They are to sign in the reservation book in FAC 102 and leave their Viterbo student ID card to check out the piano key.

Music Computer Lab
Please save work on your own disks; desktops are cleared daily. Hours are posted by the door.

Rehearsal Room FAC 435
A schedule of the semester's weekly classes and rehearsals is posted by the door. The normal set-up for this room is with the chairs in rows and music stands against a wall or in room 434. After using the room it should be returned to this set-up. Music is not to be left on the piano. Faculty members have keys to access sound and recording equipment. This equipment can be used with faculty supervision.

Practice Rooms
Fourth floor practice rooms may be used only by students of Viterbo University. If students need to practice after building hours, they may obtain Late Passes from the School of Fine Arts Office. *Practice Rooms may not be used to teach for payment. 

 Lockers
Students may rent the lockers along the 4th floor hallway. Arrangements for this are done at the School of Fine Arts Office FAC 440. For security reasons, students and faculty are urged to keep their lockers locked. Memo boards or hooks attached by adhesive pads are not allowed on lockers. 

Posters
Items to be posted should be brought to the School of Fine Arts Office. They will be stamped and posted on bulletin boards - no taping to walls. In the interest of saving paper, remember to use CONNECTIONS to publicize campus events. This is the campus newsletter that is distributed every Monday. Information should be submitted at the Communications/Marketing Office by Thursday noon to appear in the following Monday issue.
