Motivational Interviewing

This course is designed to provide skills training for individuals who are exploring a medical or clinical based career. Motivational Interviewing (MI) is an evidence-based communication strategy that is useful for people who are ambivalent about change. MI has been adapted to a variety of health care settings and currently there are models of MI for physicians, nurses, dietitians, and social workers in addition to counseling professionals. Prerequisite: 171, 270 or NUTR 371.
