Fr. Conrad Targonski, Director of Campus Ministry
Fr. Conrad Targonski is a Franciscan friar of
the Assumption Province of Franciscans (Wisconsin). Previous assignments
included university chaplain (Mississippi Valley State University);
Director of Vocations for the Franciscans; Pastor (Milwaukee) and most
recently, retired from the United States Navy Chaplain Corps after 22 years of
active duty with sailors, Marines and military families. He is also a
combat veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom (Fallujah 2004-2005). After
retirement from the Navy, Fr. Conrad embarked upon the ancient pilgrimage to
the Camino de Santiago de Campostella after which his superiors asked him to
share his experiences with the students at Viterbo University as director of
Campus Ministry, a position he has held since 2011. Since coming to Viterbo,
three other Franciscan Friars have joined the La Crosse community so that they,
along with the Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration, continue to offer the
dream of Sts. Francis of Assisi and Clare to students searching for wisdom in
the Franciscan intellectual tradition

Emilio Alvarez, Assistant Director of Campus Ministry
Emilio is new to the Campus Ministry Team. He
will hold responsibility for coordination and promotion of worship, formation
and Campus Ministry service opportunities, assistance with Sunday and weekday
Masses, and assistance with weekly Bible Study, etc. He was most recently employed as a Servant
Leadership Team Member and as Wilderness Program Camp Counselor at Camp Gray
Catholic Camp in Reedsburg, Wisconsin. He also served as a Campus
Ministry Core Team Co-Coordinator, Retreat Director and Resident Assistant at
Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. Emilio holds a bachelors degree from
Loras College. At Loras College, he studied Religious Studies and
Philosophy and minored in Catholic Studies.

Polly Pappadopoulos, Director of Music and Liturgy
Polly
Pappadopoulos is the Director of Music and Liturgy at the San Damiano
Chapel. She directs and accompanies the
St. Francis Choir, which leads congregational singing for Viterbo’s masses, as
well as performing throughout campus and the community at special events. Polly is on the Liturgy Planning Team, prepares
Cantors for masses and provides music for Weddings and Funerals. In addition to her San Damiano duties, Polly
is a private music instructor and performer.
Polly is a graduate of Viterbo University, with BA’s in Flute and Vocal
Pedagogy and a BM in Vocal Performance.
She is proud to have been a part of the St. Francis Choir since its
formation in 1995, as a cantor, flutist, pianist and director.
