ART/MUSIC

ALL ABOUT PAPER
We all use paper every day. Wisconsin has led the nation in paper making for more than 50 years. Every community has a link to the paper industry, and therefore most families are also connected. A study of paper spans all academic disciplines, ability levels, and age groups, links schools and community resources, and can lead to an exploration of careers and innovation in many areas. In addition to making several paper objects, we will explore classroom set-up and management and identify locally available resources. Join us for a hands-on exploration of paper in all its educational potential and leave with ideas to implement with you students. Limited to 15 participants.

PAPER ARTS: POP-UPS, ORNAMENTS, AND DECORATIVE CONTAINERS
Pop-up books and other paper art forms provide a format for the integration of a wide variety of skills. Creative thinking, problem solving, geometric calculations, scientific expression, and communication skills all meet in the creation of various paper objects. The objects provide a unique visual representation of the learning and skill development involved. Whether exploring ideas for art in the regular classroom or hands-on learning across the curriculum at all ages and in all disciplines, exploration of the paper arts is both educational and entertaining.
