ADVANCED STRESS REDUCTION, HEALTH AND WELLNESS STRATEGIES FOR TEACHERS AND STUDENTS (K–12)
This course will look in-depth at the sources of stress in the lives of teachers and student and the effects on a person’s wellness. This course is designed as a follow-up for participants who have taken Stress Reduction, Health and Wellness Strategies for Teachers and Students in previous years. The course will look at reframing stress in a person’s life. The course will critique wellness policies developed by various schools. Participants will develop a wellness plan to implement with staff or students for their work site. Participants will engage in several wellness activities during the course.

DEVELOPMENTAL ASSETS: CRITICAL INGREDIENTS NEEDED SO YOUR STUDENTS AND YOUR OWN CHILDREN CAN LIVE A HAPPY, HEALTHY AND SUCCESSFUL LIFE (K–12)
This class identifies the 40 developmental assets (personal strengths, personality traits, and the necessary building blocks) that dramatically increase a child’s opportunities to live a happy, healthy, and successful life. Participants will not only understand assets, but they will be able to identify specific ways to incorporate them into their parenting, classroom environment, curriculum, and/or style of teaching. Part of the class, participants will develop a plan that will promote developmental assets and have ways to implement asset building within their school district, home, classroom, community, and/or congregation. Educators will leave with a whole new positive outlook on dealing with the issues of our children. The course is practical, interactive, and hands-on. Attend and truly understand how to engage children so they get the three most important gifts for their life. Bring a laptop if you have one available.

EXPLORING THE MENTAL and PHYSICAL HEALTH OF TODAY’S CHILDREN IN SCHOOLS
This course will look at the scope of mental illness among school age children. Participants will develop an awareness of the mental disease of students and how it may compromise their learning as well as their physical health. You will engage in several activities that illustrate how to identify symptoms of a child who may have etiology of mental disease and physical disease. You will also hear about the DSM IV and how it relates to schools and the diagnosis of children.

In this course teachers will learn how to motivate students to learn by building the key assets of human life. The four key components to happiness and well being will be examined in this course. Living well is about being creative and living life to its fullest potential. Laughing often is about incorporating humor, laughter, and play into your daily routine. Loving much is about enhancing human relations skills and learning about unconditional love. Learning daily is about the brain and how to teach for retention. This class will change the quality of your life and that of your students. You will walk away with many practical applications to use in whatever classroom setting you are teaching.

This course serves as an introduction to the detrimental effects of stress on an individual and the corresponding benefits of regular relaxation. The course will emphasize the basic skills of relaxation and meditation and provide an experience that focuses on the practical application of these skills in one’s own life. Participants will also learn best practices for teaching students how to relax along with specific caveats.

MINDFULNESS: SLOWING DOWN TO THE SPEED OF LIFE
If multitasking and “reckless doing” are causing too much stress that has taken over your work, life, and relationships, then this experiential course will provide educational professionals with strategies and techniques to regain control. Participants will assess their need for mindfulness practice, discover mindfulness principles, and practice multiple ways to become personally more mindful. Some attention is given to how educational professionals can assist students to also become more mindful in the learning environment.

PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL REJUVENATION FOR TEACHERS (K–12)
This course will aid teachers in rediscovering their initial career bliss and reacquiring the initial inspiration they had for teaching. The course will also have participants take a look at practical strategies for personal rejuvenation. We will address five keys to educator rejuvenation. Educators will write a personal life mission statement so they can begin to balance their personal, family, and career lives. Once this balance begins to happen, teachers/administrators can do their jobs day in and day out. This course is for your heart, not your head. Bring a laptop if you have one available.
