Unique Features of MBA Program
Flexibilty
Viterbo understands that flexibility is the key to allowing students to meet professional and family schedules. Each class is offered one evening per week for seven consecutive weeks. Students are required to attend the first and the seventh session, plus at least one additional session. Experience has shown that most students choose to attend all seven class sessions. See a Sample Program Course Schedule(doc).
Convenient
Our MBA program follows the regular academic calendar with two semesters and a summer session each year. Fall and Spring semester classes meet for seven weeks; you then have a one-week break, then seven more weeks of classes. You will have one summer class each of the two years in the program. Extensive use is made of the course management software known as Blackboard. Class announcements, discussion questions and notes, assignments, and the presentation of timely materials are easily and simply handled via this computer technology.
Highly Personal
Our program is comfortably small to enable maximum interaction between students and faculty. Class discussion is a big part of the learning process in a MBA program and this is only achieved in a reasonably sized cohort. With class sizes around 20 to 25 students, you'll enjoy closer relationships with faculty and staff than you would in a large program.
Relevant and Focused
The curriculum of our MBA program is based on integrated, theme-based modules rather than traditional stand-alone courses. It focuses on developing highly skilled, critical thinking leaders who possess a strong sense of the common good.
Cohort Based
Students participate in the program as members of a learning team known as a “cohort.” The cohort moves through the entire program together. Your classmates bring an incredible breadth of backgrounds and experience to share with the cohort. You will be able to contribute your experiences and talents as well. With our collaborative environment, small class size, and high performance standards, the Viterbo MBA program fosters community that lasts a lifetime.
Learner Centered
Class meetings focus on individual as well as team involvement. Our dedicated faculty will facilitate discussions and engage students in developing the highest level of leadership and analytical skills. Each student will write and present an Integrated Research Project. The IRP will focus on a real world issue, usually from the student’s work place.
Reasonable Completion Time and Cost
The MBA program is designed so that students generally complete the program in two school years. The program is very competitively priced at $475.00 per credit hour for the 2010-2011 academic year. For tuition and payment information see Business Office. Financial aid may be available to qualified students; please see Financial Aid for further information.
