MAE with Innovative Teacher Leadership & Instructional Coaching

 

The MAE with Innovative Teacher Leadership and Instructional Coaching is designed to build educator capacity to strategically and purposefully improve universal classroom instruction and reinforce interpersonal relationships among educators, leading to increased student achievement.  The instructional coach will work as a colleague with classroom educators, providing personalized support that is based on the goals and identified strengths of the educator. The coach will provide encouragement and emotional support while communicating and demonstrating research-based instructional practices that result in increased student engagement and excellence for all.

This program consists of a minimum of 30 graduate credits:

  • 15-credits of core coursework.  Core course descriptions are provided on the Course Descriptions menu.
  • 10-credits of coursework specific to the Innovative Teacher Leadership and Instructional Coaching program.  Course descriptions, schedules, and licensing information are available on the Innovative Teacher Leadership and Instructional Coaching webpage. 
    • Five (5) credits of approved elective credits will be chosen from EDUC, EDUL, EDEL.  Educators typically combine coursework from the reading programs, special education programs, and elective (EDEL) coursework to fulfill the elective requirement. Your advisor will assist you in determining the correct course selection and sequence.  However, EDUC/EDPD 510, 546, 547, 548, 549 courses are not approved electives.
