The CMMC handles the distribution and preparation of all Viterbo University Academic and Administrative USPS, UPS and miscellaneous mail. Incoming mail is distributed between 11 a.m. and noon Monday through Friday, except for campus and declared holidays. Deliveries made by other companies arrive a various times of the day.

Outgoing mail falls into four categories:

1. General Mail includes personal letters, larger envelopes and packages, and is picked-up when our mail is delivered around 10 a.m. daily.

2. Presort Mail includes departmental #9 and #10 envelopes and is picked up around 2 p.m. daily.

3. Standard Mail (bulk) requires a minimum of 200 identical pieces in zip code order. Pieces must have a preprinted permit imprint or an ancillary endorcement on the card or envelope and the addresses must be verified. (As of fall 2008, the USPS required all standard mailing lists to be verified, within 95 days of a mailing, to cut down on non-deliverable mail. Contact Barb Dotta to have your mailing list verified before printing labels or envelopes.) Viterbo Employees take standard mailings to the Post office when finished.

4. Personal Mail includes all letters and packages sent by employees or students via USPS, UPS or another company. Individuals using companies other than USPS or UPS to return/send items need to schedule their own return/pick-up times.

Paper requirements for mailing pieces are a minimum 90# for post cards and a minimum 70# for folded pieces. Folded pieces need to be tabbed shut. Examples of tabbing:
