Liberal Studies at Viterbo

Tailor your own academic journey according to your interests and needs. This is the heart of the liberal studies program. Liberal studies is ideal for students with interests outside of, or across, traditionally-defined academic areas or for those seeking a bachelor’s degree to meet pre-professional goals, such as the entrance requirements to law school.

Viterbo’s close-knit community of faculty and students makes the liberal studies major ideal. Our advisory team works closely with students to build an academic program that brings together diverse areas of study into a meaningful and fulfilling degree. Both individualized and integrated, students in this program will work closely with expert advisors to tailor the program to the students’ education and career goals.

After fall of 2018, applications are no longer being accepted for the Liberal Studies major. To explore other options at Viterbo please visit the lists of Majors and Minors.

“Being a liberal studies major gave me the freedom and flexibility I craved as a college student with a wide scope of academic interests. By enrolling in this program, I was able to accommodate all of them: French, English, communications, theatre—and make them count.”
