The Bachelor of Liberal Studies (BLS) is an inter-disciplinary degree with a wide range of choice and flexibility for students in the choosing of courses. The major is largely self designed. Students complete 32 credits, choosing from humanities, social sciences, math, and fine arts. Two fields are selected from English, history, philosophy, sociology, psychology, foreign language, women's studies, art, music, theatre arts, and religious studies; and three upper division courses are taken in each field. Two other fields are chosen from the same list and one upper division course is taken in each of those. Enough further courses are chosen from humanities, social sciences, math, and fine arts to total the 32 credits, 21 of which must be upper division.
