Institutional / Administrative Mission and Goals
Academic Advising (Web page 2001, reviewed September 2007)
Academic Advising is a decision making process through which students, aided by advisors, realize the maximum educational benefits available to them by better understanding themselves and learning how to use the resources of an educational institution to meet their own educational needs and aspirations.
The goals are:
- Growth in the self-awareness of the relationship of education and life;
- Growth in the ability to identify realistic academic and career goals as well as a program to achieve them;
- Growth in the awareness of life as extending beyond the college years.
