Iowa Early Childhood Education (PK–3) Endorsement #106

Viterbo University's School of Education prepares educators who are grounded in Franciscan values and possess the knowledge and skills to be reflective decision makers for the 21st century.

Find out about How to Apply and course registration information.

The Iowa Early Childhood Education endorsement is a 24 credit endorsement. All courses are offered online with the exception of the field experience classes.  Application to the Early Childhood Endorsement is required prior to registering for Early Childhood Field experiences. Endorsement credits earned may serve as elective credits toward the Master of Arts in Education degree.

Waivers may be granted for up to six credits for this endorsement if completed within seven years of your application date from a regionally accredited institution with an assigned grade of B or higher. Up to one field experience may be waived based on candidate’s professional experiences.

The program offers a wide variety of coursework that includes four levels of field experience to provide comprehensive knowledge of the early childhood learner.  The field experiences are considered to be the Capstone experience for completion of the endorsement.  In order for these experiences to be most meaningful, a student will apply all of the learning from the foundational courses that precede the field experiences.  It is strongly recommended that the field experience student follow the prescribed course sequence.  (Prerequisite for field experiences:  Admission into the Early Childhood endorsement.)

NOTE: Prior to registering for any of the Early Childhood field experiences, students must view the field experience video and submit the verification of viewing form. Both are located in "Resources".
