Humanities and Languages at Viterbo

Viterbo’s humanities and languages programs develop the marketable skills and attributes employers desire in a wide range of professional careers.

Viterbo offers students a variety of ways to create, write, edit, design, and publish under the close guidance of faculty advisors. Opportunities include Lumen (campus newspaper), Touchstone (art/literary magazine), and El Sol (Spanish newspaper).

Our programs help students unlock their potential and find a sense of purpose. Faculty mentors and small classes allow students to develop the personal, academic, and professional skills employers desire.

Humanities students discover, apply, and present their knowledge to the wider community. Scholars Days, research fellowships, conferences, internships, and capstone projects are among the many opportunities to grow as scholars and professionals.

Exploration is at the heart of the humanities. Every student graduates with either a minor, a year of language study, or a cultural immersion experience. Study abroad trips include Spain, Italy, Costa Rica, South Africa, and many other exciting destinations!

The “3+1” Program is one of the many ways Viterbo prepares students to succeed in a wide range of professional careers. Students complete a B.A. in three years, followed by a year of graduate work leading to an MBA or a Master of Arts in Servant Leadership degree.

Students connect with each other and faculty to form a community. Student clubs, guest speakers, faculty presentations, and the annual Humanities Symposium are just a few ways students can engage in their learning.
