Viterbo University has accepted the corporate challenge
for the 2013 Grandad Half Marathon Events!
The Corporate Challenge is a
friendly competition for area businesses and organizations to demonstrate their
employees’ commitment to fitness and their community. As employees of the Viterbo
community, we compete against other businesses to see who can achieve
the highest employee participation rate in festival events and earn bragging rights as the healthiest business in La
Crosse!
Congrats to all 2014 Viterbo runners, walkers and cyclists for a 3rd place finish in the corporate challenge large employer division!
The Grandad Half Marathon also presented Viterbo University with a Special
Recognition award for their active participation with the 2013 events.
A few items that were highlighted:
- Participation
in the corporate challenge (3rd place in large employer division)
- Water
station sponsored by the Veterans Services
- Student
designed t-shirts that employees wore at events promoting Viterbo
- Promotion
of the grandad half marathon events with Viterbo students
- Vic
the V-hawk's participation in the mascot race

What is the Grandad Half Marathon?
The Grandad Half Marathon is a two-day celebration that gives area residents and
visitors from across the country an opportunity to enjoy active, aerobic
outdoor events amidst the breathtaking natural beauty of the Mississippi River
Valley. The Fitness Festival is the weekend of May 3-4, 2013.
The range of events included in the Corporate Challenge will be the Half Marathon, Half Marathon
Relay, 5K Run/Walk, Bike tour, Cycling Criterium and Cycling Time Trial.
You can also do a 5 mile family friendly bike tour through the marsh on
the trails. The bike tour is a leisure, noncompetitive, untimed event.

Proceeds from the Fitness Festival are donated to
the St. Clare
Health Mission, Youth Enrichment Association, and Special
Olympics of La Crosse.
