Dean - College of Education, Sciences and Mathematics

Viterbo University is seeking a Dean of the newly created College of Education, Sciences and Mathematics. The new Dean, who will oversee the College of Education, Sciences and Mathematics, must be committed to providing a strong educational experience for the next generation of scientists and educators. Requirements:

  • Doctorate from a regionally accredited University
  • A minimum of five years full-time teaching and five years of higher education administrative experience at the level of department chair or above.
  • Academic credentials commensurate with the rank of full professor.
  • A proven record of leadership in strategic planning, academic program review, assessing student learning outcomes, program or regional accreditation and entrepreneurship in program development.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies and distance education.
  • A strong commitment to the Catholic Franciscan values and mission of the University.

Admission Counselor - Center for Adult Learning 

The Center for Adult Learning (CAL) at Viterbo University invites applications for a full-time Admission Counselor. Responsibilities include: Planning and implementing promotional strategies to recruit an applicant pool of sufficient size and quality to assure continuation of all CAL programs, plan and organize information sessions on and off campus and develop efficient student relationship management system regarding prospective students.  Individual will also communicate with applicants regarding admission process and programs of study as well as work with CAL advisors to organize and carry out adult student orientation.

This full-time, year round position will begin as soon as possible.  

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. A minimum of 3 years experience and proven success in recruitment and/or sales positions. Understanding and appreciation of adult students’ needs and knowledge of adult education.  Must be able to travel to locations in the states of Wisconsin and Minnesota throughout the year.

Residence Life Community Coordinator 

Viterbo University  invites applications for a Residence Life Community Coordinator.   Position will:  Coordinate activities/mechanisms to increase student satisfaction, resident student interaction, academic success, health and community service. Lead student staff in developing community, building rapport with and educating other students. Incident response, student conduct and administrative duties including evening and weekend on-call duty.  

Qualifications: Master’s degree in student affairs, higher education or a related field and previous work in university housing strongly preferred. Bachelor’s degree, strong communication, administrative and supervisory skills required. Valid driver’s license and computer/office equipment proficiency required. 12 month position; must live on-campus and respond to requests/emergencies during and after weekday hours. Position open until filled. Salary: Mid-twenties, meals during academic year and housing.

Instructional Designer   

Viterbo University is inviting applications for an Instructional Designer.  This position will: Assist faculty in the development of technology-enhanced courses and redesign of existing course content to adapt for online learning environments; work with faculty to design and implement effective learner-centered courses using technology; develop, identify and facilitate professional development activities for faculty and staff relating to educational technology; collaborate with other campus support entities; supervise the Instructional Design and Support Specialist and evaluate and assess instructional design activities.   

Qualifications: Earned Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Instructional Technology, or related discipline; three years’ experience in an instructional design or support role;  excellent written and oral communication skills and organizational skills; ability to work both independently and collegially in a rapidly changing environment; expertise in learning management systems, web authoring or similar tools with the ability to create online educational materials; knowledge of emerging technologies as related to education as well as web technologies, multimedia applications and social media.

Programmer Analyst     

Full-time Administrative Personnel position, the Programmer Analyst reports to the Director of IIT, and responsible for assisting with the management maintenance, continual improvement and upgrading systems related to University’s administrative software/hardware systems (Ellucian Colleague).    

Position is responsible for programming, database report writing and software patching support tasks on Colleague system.  Responsibilities also include analysis of Colleague Software updates to inform end users in functional business areas concerning business process modifications or testing needs; monitoring of database integrity; export/importing and processing of data sets from the Colleague system using SQL Server Reporting Services, MS-Excel, MS-Access and SQL Management Studio tools for use in other systems/databases; and assisting  end-users with the creation of custom reports using SQL Server Reporting Services, MS-Access, MS-Excel or other reporting tools.     

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree or 3-5 years of professional experience in an equivalent position required.  Prefer at least two years additional relevant experience. Extensive knowledge of relational database software, programming and query languages is required. Demonstrable experience in troubleshooting of software systems is required. Excellent customer service, written and verbal skills are essential.  Experience with higher education student information systems and knowledge of Microsoft SQL server, SSIS, SSRS a plus.

Assistant Women’s Softball Coach

Responsibilities include: coaching at practices and games, monitoring academic progress of student-athletes, helping recruit student-athletes, and teaching and embracing the five core values of the Champions of Character initiative.

Qualifications: bachelor’s degree required, background in education, coaching or athletics preferred.  Experience as softball coach desired.  Willingness to work flexible hours including some nights and weekends.

Assistant Vice President of Principal Gifts 

Viterbo University invites applications for an Assistant Vice President of Principal Gifts.   The primary responsibility is to strengthen and deepen relationships with major benefactors and potential benefactors by ensuring appropriate cultivation and stewardship events, personal contacts, and recognition opportunities are in place.  The individual will plan and execute individual major and planned gift cultivation and solicitation supporting approved fund-raising priorities at the university. 

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree and CFRE preferred. At least seven years of progressively responsible experience in front-line fundraising and strong working knowledge of industry best practices relevant to the successful cultivation and solicitation of high-level prospects and benefactors for major and planned gifts within a comprehensive campaign.  Experience preferably will be in higher education, although related experience will also be considered. Ability and willingness to work evening and weekend hours including travel both regionally and nationally is required.
