2016 Global Education Workshop: Teaching and Learning for Children in Poverty

Location: Viterbo University, School of Nursing, 916 South 10th Street, La Crosse, WI 

The University of Wisconsin Madison Institute for Regional and International Studies (IRIS) in partnership with Viterbo University and Northwoods International School will be hosting a 1-day collaborative curriculum workshop for community, K-12 educators, and others who interact with children living in poverty.  This workshop is centered on questions of international opportunities related to serving children in poverty across the globe.  All participants will hear from national presenters on this topic and develop skills and tools to serve our marginalized youth whose background puts then at an educational disadvantage.

The registration fee is $30;  lunch is included.  One optional graduate credit is available for an additional fee of $135.  Attendees will receive a personal set of supplies and materials to facilitate interactions with children living in poverty.
