FIND YOUR USERNAME
Before proceeding to lookup your Viterbo e-mail, please make note of the following:
- Your email account is used by the university and your instructors to communicate important information to you. Be sure to check it on a regular basis or else forward it to an account that is checked on a regular basis.
- Accounts are composed of the first letter of the first name, up to the first five letters of the last name, and an assigned five digit number (which is generated automatically upon registration).
- Your Username is what you will use to login to any Computer Lab PC and into any of your accounts (i.e. E-mail, Blackboard, Vitnet, or Printing). “@viterbo.edu” is not included in the username when logging in.
- Default Password: It is composed of the last four digits of SSN, and the month/day of your birthday. If you do not have a SSN, then use 9999. Once you have logged in, you are encouraged to change your password. Instructions for changing your password can be found at: http://www.viterbo.edu/ComputerServices.aspxunder the “E-mail service” link.
Example: John Richards “could” have an e-mail of jricha00001@viterbo.edu
Username: jricha00001 SSN: 123456789 Birthday: 09/20/1983 Password: 67890920Example: Melissa Vang “could” have an e-mail of mvang00312@viterbo.edu
Username: mvang00312 SSN: None (use 9999) Birthday: 11/01/1987 Password: 99991101
** IMPORTANT **
Turn on your Junk E-mail setting immediately upon logging in to your e-mail for the first time.
(1) Once logged in, choose “Options” in the upper right corner.
(2) Scroll down and click on “Junk E-mail”.
(3) Choose the “Automatically filter junk e-mail” bullet.
(4) To further help, be sure to check the box under the "Manage Safe Senders List" section that says "Also trust email from my Contacts".
(5) Be sure to choose “Save” to save the settings.
