JUNK E-MAIL Instructions

 

Basic instructions for use:

  • When clicking the Login link, a login screen will appear as shown below (same on PC and Mac).

  • Enter your User Name and Password. 

  • If you need help determining your Username/Password, click here for a lookup page.  If you still have trouble, please contact the Help Desk at 608-796-3870.

*** Deleting E-mails ***

If you have multiple e-mails you wish to delete, by holding down the Shift Key and using the Arrows you can highlight multiple e-mails at once (such as in Quarantine).  If you use the CTRL key you can highlight individual e-mails (and in this way can un-select a valid e-mail in Junk E-mail while all others are selected using the Shift). 

If you hold the Shift key when clicking the Red X to delete, the messages will be permanantly deleted (and won't go to Deleted Items).  If you would rather the e-mails go to Deleted Items just don't hold down the Shift Key.  Keep in mind Deleted Items older than seven days are auto-deleted. 

 

 


 

Trouble logging in? 

If you get an error such as "The page cannot be found" or "access denied"…try the following from within Internet Explorer. Be sure you are using Internet Explorer 6.0! 

  • Click Internet Options on the Tools menu, click Security, and then click Custom Level. In the User Authentication section, change the Auto logon setting to "Prompt for username and password." You may have to repeat this for all the defined Web content zones.

 


 

To forward E-mail

To forward your Viterbo e-mail to an external e-mail account (i.e. jtkirk@yahoo.com), click on the “Options” button in the upper right corner of Outlook Web, then choose “Rules” from the list, and then click on the “New Rule” button.  Choose to “Create a new rule for arriving messages”.  Located under “Do the following” choose to “Forward or redirect” and choose to “Forward the message to people or distribution lists”.  You then need to click on the link that appears to the left, “people or distribution lists”, and at the To-> type in the address, and select okay…  your settings should then look like this example.. Choose Save.

Changing Password

To change the account's password, click on the shortcut button "Options" in the upper right corner once logged in.  Click the "Change Password" link located on the left hand side.  Type in your current “old” password, and choose a new password at least 8 characters in length.  Only limit is it cannot be a previous password.  Note the screen example below.

Log Off

Be sure to LOG OFF when your session is done and close the browser window so others can't access your account! (located in the far upper-right corner of the OWA screen).
