Lula Washington Dance Theatre: Reflections in Black

Narrator and host Lula Washington, along with her dancers, will demonstrate various dance styles and perform excerpts from the company's repertoire. The program gives children awareness of African-American history and culture. Lula also introduces students to historical facts about the Middle passage, the Underground Railroad, the nature of slavery, and the slave's desire for freedom. Lula brings students on stage to demonstrate and learn movements as part of the show.
