Charles L. Mee’s Big Love is a theatrical statement that is comedic, gymnastic, musical, sensual, shocking, and redemptive. Brides flee their grooms and seek refuge in a villa on the coast of Italy in this modern re-making of one of the western world’s earliest plays. When the grooms catch up with the brides, mayhem ensues, along with seduction, violence, pop songs, and romantic dances. Finally, unable to escape their forced marriages, the brides murder the grooms. But, one bride falls in love—about the same odds as today.
Please join the director and cast for an Arts in Context in the theatre immediately following the March 3 performance.
