The Viterbo Educational Leadership Licensure program is designed to meet all the state of Wisconsin DPI (PI 3.57 PK - Director of Special Education and Pupil Services) #80 License requirements. The PK–12 #80 license permits the holder to serve as the Director of Special Education and Pupil Services for any school district in the state of Wisconsin.

The Educational Leadership Program with Director of Special Education and Pupil Services Licensure

In response to the importance of developing leadership for student learning and the shortage of licensed  Directors of Special Education and Pupil Services, the university, under the leadership of Jim Bagniewski, began in 2008 expanding an educational leadership program that includes this license. Collaborations with PK–12 systems, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction, as well as reviewing research and best practices served as valuable resources in designing the program.

Possible cohort sites can be offered in four different areas depending on student interest and numbers:

  • La Crosse
  • Eau Claire
  • Green Bay
  • Middleton
