International Education Experience
A supervised practice Community Nutrition rotation option in Belize, Central America, is available to students who apply and are selected in the spring semester senior year. This supervised practice experience supports the Community Nutrition competencies for the course, Leadership in Community and Medical Dietetics (NUTR 476). The students practice in Belize Regional Hospital outpatient clinics, with the Ministry of Health public health educators, and with the Ministry of Health Nutritionist on local and national nutrition projects. The additional cost for this learning practice option is $2700-2900 contingent on airfare, and not including expenses associated with passport, shots, international ID card and personal spending money.
Belize, Central America During spring semester senior nutrition students have the opportunity to participate in a 4 week immersion experience in Belize.
South Korea During the summer prior to senior coursework, nutrition seniors have the opportunity to study Korean culture and nutrition, administer Food Frequency Questionnaires (FFQ's), eat traditional Korean food, and make some wonderful memories in South Korea.
