Students In Free Enterprise (S.I.F.E.)

S.I.F.E. is an organization in which students develop community outreach projects that create economic opportunities for others while discovering their own potential. Viterbo's SIFE Club has been involved in educating the community by visiting local middle school and high school students to speak about business and finance, hosting professional credit counseling seminars for college students, and training a local Boy Scout troop to help them earn a computer skills badge. In addition, the club has conducted several successful fundraising projects and organizes an annual "Angel Tree" project to distribute Christmas present donations through the Salvation Army. To learn more about SIFE, please contact faculty sponsors Alissa Oelfke,  Paul Robinson, and Susan Schuyler. Computer Information Systems Club

Viterbo's Computer Information Systems Club (C.I.S.)  has been involved in a number of projects that focused on interacting with the business community as well.  In November, 2004, eleven club members traveled to Rochester, MN to visit IBM and learn about the types of CIS work opportunities there.  The club has also hosted a variety of guest speakers from local organizations over the past few years, including project managers and system administrators from local organizations.  This year, the CIS Club is petitioning to become a chapter of the notional organization AITP (Association of Information Technology Professionals).
