Experience Outside Academia:
Prior to entering academia, Raintry Jean held several posts in the environmental arena. She has over a decade of experience in the non-profit and public sectors, including work with the National Park Service, non-profit environmental organizations, and municipal governments. She also possesses management experience in the private sector.
Professional Associations:
Raintry Jean has been an active member of the International Association for Society and Natural Resources and the National Recreation and Parks Association since 2001. Since 2004, she has served as a peer reviewer for academic publications including Journal of Leisure Research and Society and Natural Resources.

Publications and Presentations:
Most recently, Raintry Jean’s work, focused on organizational learning, leadership and culture, was published in the Journal of Park and Recreation Administration. She also contributed a chapter in an edited book entitled Diversity and the Recreation Profession. Currently, she has several manuscripts in review or in process. Additionally, she has presented her work on many occasions, both nationally and internationally, including presentations at the International Symposium on Society and Natural Resources.
Research Activities:
With over a decade of research experience, Raintry Jean has a breadth of experience working with diverse stakeholders and methodologies. Her research collaborators have included the USDA Forest Service and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, as well as tourism, event planning, and membership led organizations. Her current research interests are focused on sustainability and organizational change. She is particularly interested in sustainability initiatives undertaken by various sectors and the effects of organizational leadership, culture, and behavior on adoption and implementation of sustainability platforms. New to the La Crosse area, her hope is to continue her research program and extend assistance to community and student driven research projects.

"One of my greatest joys of teaching in the MBA program is witnessing the unveiling of 'a-ha' moments."
Hobbies and Other Interests:
Raintry Jean’s avid interest in sustainability and the environment has led her to an involvement in various outdoor pursuits. In her leisure time, she enjoys trail running, biking, hiking, swimming and camping. She has participated in triathlons and looks forward to taking up kayaking to explore the bountiful waterways in the region.
