What LIVE courses co-count?

 What?

 How?

 Why?

 Complications? Qualifications?

 Ways of Thinking

 CCC course approval process

We approved LIVE with stipulation that up to 2 VUSMs could co-count.

Only VUSMs with two credits aligned with a given WoT can co-count.

Only 2 VUSMs can co-count as WoTs.

Students can’t choose which VUSMs will co-count; the first two co-counting VUSMs will slot into respective WoT positions in degree audit.

 Foundations

 CCC course approval process

Approved LIVE structure allowed for   program required courses to satisfy Foundations requirements.

No courses have been submitted yet.

With Information Literacy and Written Communication 1 embedded in ENGL1xx, Written Communication 2 and Oral Communication become the best places for departments to build Foundations into program requirements.

 Minor requirements

 Departmental and school curriculum committees

Minors encourage interdisciplinary thinking by design, and they are far less rigid in their required courses.

This option is not restricted to interdisciplinary minors.

The Mission Seminar must be an option in a menu.

Not program requirements including support courses

LIVE belongs to all students, not to a particular department, and the VUSMs are at the core of LIVE.

If programs require a given VUSM, that will present staffing issues, number of VUSMs/semester.
